Research and Training

Events and Workshops

The company organizes workshops and seminars to strengthen the awareness of the potential customers on ICT application advantages and modern trends of the technology in order to better facilitate our customers to develop further, whilst broadening our market opportunities.

- "Introducing of Technology based Distance Learning Methodology" seminar, August 12-16, 2002 Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (http://www.elearning.mn)

We managed to organize jointly with Web based Distance Education in Mongolia" project team (supported by IDCR, Canada), Mongolian Foundation for Open Society (Soros Foundation) and Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Culture two-days seminar on "Introducing of Technology based Distance Learning Methodology" followed by three days training for teachers (30 from rural out of 50 total participants). More than 40 officials and representatives from government, educational institutions and international organizations attended the seminar.

To make modern information and communication technology (ICT) into a tool for the development of Mongolia and its people is the central topic of a gathering 140 of state officials, the private sector, academic people and representatives of civil societies. The government of Mongolia, SIH Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, United Nations Development Program and the Mongolian Foundation for Open Society are jointly organized the Development of Mongolia and ICT National Seminar that chaired by Prime Minister of Mongolia and as result of this seminar, created the National Committee for ICT headed by Prime Minister.

- "School Internet-2000" International Conference, July 19-21, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Education of Mongolia and the Mongolian Foundation initiated this international conference for Open Society (Soros Foundation). The main purpose of the conference was to compare the ICT application level with other countries, exchange the experience and information, collaborate, exchange the opinions about the possible extension of ICT into educational sector, and introduce to about the projects of the Education Resource Network (I*EARN). 180 teachers and students from schools in the cities and in the countryside and 40 high level officials, foreign guests have participated in this conference.

Distance Consultation in Healthcare for Rural People of Mongolia

The InfoCon Co., Ltd is acting as a consulting agency in the project management and IT applications development for the project "Distance Consultation in Healthcare for Rural People of Mongolia" implemented by Health Scence University of Mongolia and supported by IDRC, Canada


Mongolia Internet Exchange

The company was developed the technical design for Mongolia Internet Exchange and implemented and put into operation in April of 2001. The 6 ISPs of Mongolia connected to MIX by today. This is a non-profit effort to build a local Internet exchange for Internet Service Providers supporting the commercial, academic, and government supported Internet community.

The main objective of this project is to create a neutral Internet exchange in Ulaanbaatar under the management of InfoCon Company, a non-ISP communications services consultant.

A national Internet exchange a solution that establishes an infrastructure, which will allow local routing of Mongolian Internet traffic, and reduces international hosting providers' costs between participating members.


Distance Education in Mongolia (http://www.elearning.mn)

The IDRC, Canada funded project on Distance Education is started in January of 2001. The aim of the project is to introduce Internet-based distance education to selected Mongolian learning communities. The project provides experimental web-based and computer-based instructional courses in subject areas that are deemed by the project stakeholders as most needed by the Mongolian society. Several interdisciplinary teams created to develop and deliver courses in areas such as English Language, IT and computer skills, gender issues and legal rights. A parallel aim of the project is to facilitate the educational authority in Mongolia to strategize a vision and plan for technology-based distance education within its national education and distance education policy framework.

Our company is working as a coordinating agency among the stakeholders' organizations and responsible for the overall management, IT solutions of the Distance Education in Mongolia project.

In collaboration with Jamba International Co. we are offering bizMongolia.mn, the first weekly on-line source of news and analysis of Mongolian economic and business affairs. It has also seen the integration of the traditional nomadic culture into the fast-changing world of 21st century commerce, taking full advantage of the people's natural intelligence and business acumen. The weekly issue provides an authoritative insight into the business, finance, science, and technology of Mongolia.
