8. Conclusion

The main feature of rural Mongolia is that the population density is very low, about 1.5 persons per square kilometre on average. Many of the rural areas are still being served by old-fashioned open wire lines. But Mongolia is keen to improve the quality of service by introducing new available technologies. It seems likely that satellite-based technology and the technology based on point to multipoint will be appropriate for Mongolia.
