The telecommunication sector has an important role in improving the country’s economic  potential and competitiveness in international market.

The main purpose of this policy statement is to implement effecient the objectives for improving the quality and increasing the types and coverage of telecommunication services on the basic of  developing the telecommunication sector management and structure, and advancement of the technology for the purpose of meeting the increasing socio-economic demand and accelerating further development of other sectors of the economy.

The world’s telecommunication market is increasingly becoming globalised, liberalised and a powerful multimedia environment is being created by the convergence between the telecommunication, information, computer and broadcasting technologies. Globalisation liberalisation and convergence are becoming the main trend of telecommunication development.

It becomes necessary to follow the principles of the trade in telecommunication services and to increase the private sector participation in telecommunication sector development.
